Between 2022 and 2023 I had the opportunity to live in Salento and I had the chance to know the stories of the places in the surroundings. During the ‘50s there was an agricultural riot growing because the workers lost their fields. The story is interesting and the climax of this riot happened when there was a bicycle fire due to the fact that these vehicle were used by the farmers to meet in secret during the night time when they planned their moves for the next days. However I searched for signs of this riot in the land, but it seems that the people living there had complete lost memories of this story, so I decided to work in a more symbolic way, searching for different traces in the landscape as if the landscape itself was the only witness of these events. And what happened is that some of these traces had symbols and metaphors of the riot. The sequence is created to have three sections, the first is about the symbols and the elements that I found in the landscape , to create a timeline of the events and a thought about these events fading in the memory and the history. The second part is about the idea of the double and the comparison between memory and current state, but also in a more photographic way looking at the time passing by in those places. In the third and last part I created a sequence that could resemble some “little” everyday fights that still happen. Just like my other works I tried to create an idea of uncertainty where the photographs can be intended as bridges between places and memory
